# CLOSE
`CLOSE` closes a cursor.

Use `CLOSE` to close a cursor previously opened with [`DECLARE`](https://preview.materialize.com/materialize/40269/markdown-docs/sql/declare/index.md).

## Syntax

CLOSE <cursor_name>;
```
